Breaking News! Direct Flight Route from Shenzhen to Angkor Wat Launched, with a Flight Time of Only 2.5 Hours
On July 18th, the first direct flight from Shenzhen, China, landed smoothly at Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport in Cambodia, and 141 Chinese tourists entered the country successfully.
This important moment marks the official launch of the direct flight route from Shenzhen to Cambodia, injecting strong new vitality into tourism exchanges between China and Cambodia. Hun Sen Dan, Under-Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism, Chea Aun, Permanent Secretary of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, and officials from the Siem Reap Provincial Government attended the welcoming ceremony, greeting the arriving tourists with a warm atmosphere, fully demonstrating the hospitality of the host.
Chea Aun expressed in the welcome ceremony that the launch of the direct flight route from Shenzhen to Siem Reap is an important achievement of Cambodia-China tourism cooperation, which fully proves that Siem Reap, as a world-renowned tourist destination, is still favored by Chinese tourists. He emphasized that Shenzhen is one of the four major tourist source cities in China, together with Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, forming an important source market for Cambodia. The launch of this route will undoubtedly bring more tourist resources to Cambodia.
What's more noteworthy is that this route has special significance —— it is currently the first direct flight route between the world cultural heritage Angkor Wat and a first-tier city in China. The flight is scheduled to depart from Siem Reap every Thursday evening and return from Shenzhen early the next morning, with a one-way flight time of approximately only 2.5 hours, providing great convenience for tourists' travel.
Prior to this, China Eastern Airlines has long operated flights from Kunming to Siem Reap. The addition of the new flight by Cambodia National Airlines will further enrich the travel options for Chinese people to visit Cambodia, optimize tourists' travel experience, effectively activate the tourist source market from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area to Cambodia, and add new impetus to the development of tourism in China and Cambodia.
